SPRING CREEK SUPER SERIES, ROUND #6 By Team-Kixsquest | Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 03:49:37 PM EST By Mary Maillette

Spring Creek MX Park hosted round six of their Super Series, July 13th.  A storm blew through Friday night, but Saturday morning was sunny, windy and beautiful racing weather.  The Spring Creek crew got working on the track getting it in tip top shape for practice.  There must have been moto-fever in the air because more and more racers pulled in throughout Saturday making for a great turnout Sunday.  Over 600 racers registered to compete and enjoy the Spring Creek facility.

If you've never attended the Saturday evening worship service, check it out!  The music,  by The Spring Creek Praise Band, was great and Pastor Kristine Marshall did such a nice job.  Then, treats were provided after which were a big hit with the racers!  And, if you are a mom, then I know you appreciated the arts and crafts that were provided this weekend.  The theme was a Pirate Party.  My kids decorated their own pirate bandanas, eye patches and swords and came home with lots of treats!  Some of the other kid friendly activities were a Treasure Hunt, Smores and Cupcake Decorating and Candy Bar Bingo.  Spring Creek really celebrates the family aspect of motocross by hosting so many kid and family friendly activities.   Thanks to the whole crew at Spring Creek who make these great race weekends possible!

So, here are a few race highlights...

14-24A

Moto One
Alex Martin, #144 grabbed the holeshot with Charlie Wise, #321, Kelly Brown, #2 and Scott Jendro, #302 behind him.   Brown went down in the big uphill before the holy schmidt leaving Jendro in second chasing Martin.  Trevor Tuma, #288 moved into third with Wise and Dustin Harguth, #264 riding in fourth and fifth.  Harguth made the pass on Wise, but then Wise passed him back.  Harguth didn't give up because he passed Wise again, this time making it stick.

Moto Two
Martin is a powerhouse on the #144 machine and was once again in the lead.  Behind Martin was Jendro, Brown, Nicholas Jackson, #308, Wise and Harguth.  These guys are fast and furious so there is a lot going on out there on the track!   Martin and Jendro held the top two positions, but then Tuma moved up to third with Brown in fourth, Harguth in fifth and Jackson in sixth.

Final overall results:  Alex Martin - 1st, Scott Jendro - 2nd, Trevor Tuma - 3rd.

Schoolboy

Moto One
Jeremy Martin, #144 grabbed the holeshot with Riley Kroone, #338 in second, Marshall Pilgram, #311 in third, Dustin Fore, #161 in fourth and Zachary Williams, #276 in fifth.  Kroone looked determined in his chase for Martin and as it happened, Martin did go down.  Kroone took the lead, but Martin was back up, running and on the throttle chasing down everyone in his path to get to Kroone.  Unfortunately, a four lap race isn't always enough time to get the job done.  Kroone took the win in moto one with Martin finishing second.

Moto Two
Dustin Fore, #161 snagged the holeshot, with Martin in second and Kroone in third.  Martin quickly took the lead but Fore was tailing him and Kroone and Pilgrim were on the gas behind Fore.  Fore got hung up on one of the uphills and Kroone and Pilgrim slipped past him.  Actions can speak louder than words and Fore was not a happy camper!  Fore was on the chase for Pilgrim

Final overall results:  Jeremy Martin - 1st, Riley Kroone - 2nd, Marshall Pilgrim - 3rd.

85cc 9-12

Moto One
Titan Immel, #82 and Taylor Witt, #32 hit the holeshot turn out front with Cody Williams, #167 riding in third place.  Witt took the lead with Immel, Seth Hanson, #207, Aaron Rouse, #223, Cody Williams and Body Penman, #434 behind him.  The first moto results were Taylor Witt - 1st, Titan Immel - 2nd, Seth Hanson - 3rd.

MotoTwo
Titan Immel grabbed the holeshot with Brody Penman behind him.  Taylor Witt must have run into trouble because he was riding in fifth.  Seth Hanson was riding in third but feeling the heat from Aaron Rouse.  Rouse was trying to pass Hanson, but Hanson held him off.  Meanwhile, Witt was a man on a mission charging up the pack.  By the end of the moto he took second behind Immel.

Final overall results:  Titan Immel - 1st, Taylor Witt - 2nd, Brody Penman - 3rd.
